Letter #100 (July 3rd, 2013)

Hey all
This week has been great with some really great work happening. Elder
G and I really pushed ourselves and managed to reach 32 lessons
last week most of them being in Casoy. Then on Sunday we had a great
success. We had 19 people come from Casoy to go to church in Toledo
and they stayed for all 3 hours too. We had the R family and they
even went in an interview with our branch president to goal for the
temple as a couple. We also had 5 investigators attend as well and
they expressed the good feelings they felt at church. We are having
great success with everyone in Casoy at the moment. It has been really
good how the members have really banded together to try to strengthen
the investigators while we are not there especially in terms of
encouraging our investigators to overcome all the persecutions from
their neighbors for investigating the "mormons". I have great hope for
Casoy in the near future. We have 3 baptisms scheduled for the first
week of August (two of them very potential priesthood) and hopefully a
few more in the proceeding weeks. (yes I know I wont be there for them
but that doesn't mean I can't be excited for these individuals).

Elder G is a great missionary and has really shown forth his ability this
past week in really taking the lead of the area. Last week he did really well
in leading the area in our exchanges with other missionaries and then this
week with the application in proselyting being taking the lead in all teaching
situations he has shown forth courage and gone in with boldness. He is
a great missionary and really knows how to apply the things he is
learning. He is hungry for knowledge from the scriptures and always
has great questions about the doctrine and principles we are teaching.
Our District is also doing really well. It was a great district
meeting and we discussed how we can help the members become better at
fulfilling their individual roles in helping members and
investigators.

I have also been keeping myself occupied by the work to stop me from
thinking about going home in some weeks (dont want to count them....
hahaha). Also have been keeping myself busy in my studies trying to
continue to get the most out of my studies every morning. I have come
across some really interesting passages of scripture and topics lately
which are really exciting me to continue my study efforts after the
mission as well.

And foods that i miss... cereal... real milk... real cheese... Aussie beef
(well actually we get to eat that now and again here)... tomatoes (the big red
ones)... potato chips... berries (i dont think they exist here outside of jams and
conserves)... Aussie sausages on the BBQ with BBQ sauce (better tell
Dad to start scrubbin the BBQ... hahaha). Hope that gives you some
ideas. Terri here: I asked him what food he would like to have in the fridge and
pantry for when he gets home!! That is what he wants!!

So thats all for this week.
Love you all
Elder Taylor Addison Cox
